Wanting Joy

Sep 29, 2026

There is a kind of longing that sits deep in the chest — a quiet ache for joy. Not the surface kind that comes and goes with circumstances, but the kind that steadies you, lifts you, and reminds you that you are still alive inside.
Heaven sees that longing.
And the Spirit is whispering into it now:
“Joy is not something you must manufacture. Joy is something I am restoring.”
You have walked through seasons that drained you. You have carried responsibilities that weighed heavy. You have survived moments that stole color from your world. And somewhere along the way, joy became something you remembered instead of something you lived.
But God is breathing on that place again.
For the Lord says:
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
Not the joy of circumstances. Not the joy of perfection. Not the joy of everything finally working out. But the joy that flows from His nearness — the joy that rises from knowing you are held, chosen, seen, and deeply loved.
This joy is not fragile. It does not crack under pressure. It does not disappear when life gets loud. It is a river that runs beneath the surface, quiet but unbreakable.
And hear this in your spirit:
“I am restoring joy where sorrow settled. I am awakening joy where numbness lived. I am planting joy where disappointment tried to take root.”
Joy is coming back to you — not as a fleeting feeling, but as a holy strength. A strength that lifts your head. A strength that softens your heart. A strength that reminds you that God is not done with your story.
You will look back on this moment and say, “Joy didn’t return because life became easy — joy returned because God revived me.”
